Every Saturday I have a drum Lesson with Malcolm Ball . I really enjoy it because I get to learn lots of different styles of music.
I’ve been learning to play Roxanne, after getting the idea from the mikedolbear.com site.
You can watch a video of me playing it:

My Take on Bernard Purdie’s half-time shuffle – my You Tube video.
I have been listening to Steely Dan’s Babylon Sisters and Home at Last, and Jeff Porcaro play Rosanna. In the video clip I play my version of the half-time shuffle, which is more like Jeff Porcaro’s version. Please rate my video on You Tube and leave a message there.

My dad made a practice kit for me. To make a practice kit I used some parts from my electronic kit, a couple of cheap snare stands and a two different sized practice pads. I wanted a double pedal practice setup and a two drum set up. This means I can practice a variety of chops and kicks. If you haven’t got an electronic kit, you can buy a kick practice pad for a good price and use that instead. If you want to know more please let me know by leaving a comment here.
Today I worked on my double kick, Moellor and a piece called Max – A be bop piece.

It’s been a long time since I rock and rolled,
It’s been a long time since I did the Stroll.
Ooh, let me get back, let me get back,
Let me get back, baby, where I come from.
It’s been a long time, been a long time,
Been a long lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely time. Yes it has.

Today, George and me had a great practice session, which included an acoustic session. I really enjoyed playing the congas and bongos, and hearing an acoustic guitar too.

Today I got back to practice after a day’s rest from the Rhythm course at Bath.
I work on things like feet and hand techniques, including double-kick and building up speed slowly.
